About the Role

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, a technology-driven subsidiary of Johnson Controls, specializes in designing, engineering, and manufacturing hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions. This position is based at their Nisku, Alberta facility. Reliable transportation to commute is necessary. The role involves working on a rotating day shift from 6 AM to 6 PM, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate sealing machinery or apply filler to repair holes, dents, and seams on equipment.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces manually and using power tools to prepare for finishing.
• Mask and tape equipment surfaces to ready them for painting applications.
• Mix, blend, and match paint colors as needed for accurate finish.
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brushes or spray guns.
• Monitor and report on the usage of parts and any material concerns.
• Assist with the requisition of replacement parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Work cooperatively within a team environment requiring minimal supervision.
• Comply fully with safety standards set by Silent-Aire and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of relevant college, vocational or technical training is advantageous.
• Experience with sheet metal operations is preferred.
• Previous autobody preparation experience is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to read and interpret blueprints is beneficial.
• Physical ability to carry and move equipment or supplies weighing over 25 pounds.
• Good color perception is required.

Working Environment and Conditions

• Industrial commercial setting requiring manual dexterity to handle necessary tools.
• Must exercise caution due to inherent environmental hazards.
• Consistent adherence to safety policies including the use of protective equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Overtime work as needed.

Workplace Interaction

Primary communication will be internal with assigned teams and supervisory personnel including the Team Lead, Supervisor, and Senior Production Manager.
