Security Engineer II, Enterprise Security AI

About the Role

Join Google's Security team dedicated to creating a safe operational environment for users and developers by focusing on the security of enterprise Artificial Intelligence products. As a Security Engineer II, you will collaborate closely with software engineers to proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities in AI-related features and products. Your role involves assessing enterprise security controls within Google's own AI offerings and partnering with the Enterprise Security AI division to develop secure development practices and mitigation strategies against risks linked to AI technologies.

The Core team, responsible for foundational technical elements across Google's products, empowers innovation and safety by building central solutions and influencing key technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough security assessments and create threat models for both first-party and third-party AI agents, ensuring compliance with established practices and enterprise security standards.
• Develop and validate technical safeguards to prevent unauthorized autonomous actions by AI agents, guiding the secure development of AI frameworks and solutions.
• Utilize subject matter expertise to support issue escalations and collaborate on remediation efforts within the team.
• Share knowledge of agent security technologies and Google’s security infrastructure with related teams to promote cohesive project collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum one year of experience performing security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling.
• At least one year of coding experience in languages such as Python, Go, SQL, or JavaScript.
• Background in security engineering, network and computer security, and security protocols.
• Preferred experience in enterprise security areas including threat modeling, authentication/access control, data protection, or sandboxing technologies.
• Familiarity with Google's internal security infrastructures like BeyondCorp and vulnerability management processes.
• Understanding of common Google production technology stacks.
• Demonstrated ability to independently create high-quality engineering deliverables such as design documentation, code reviews, or risk assessments with minimal revisions.
