Senior Procurement Manager

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Procurement Manager located in the United States to lead strategic procurement efforts within an innovative, technology-oriented company. This leadership position integrates category management, sourcing expertise, and procurement transformation to generate tangible business value. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders to enhance spending efficiency, optimize supplier collaboration, and streamline procurement operations. This role requires a combination of strategic insight and hands-on execution in enterprise procurement functions, advancing modern procurement practices through AI-powered platforms and scalable processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement category strategies focusing on Marketing, HR, Finance, and other enterprise expense areas aligned with business priorities.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders and internal teams to uncover sourcing prospects, specify needs, and deliver practical procurement solutions.
• Lead comprehensive sourcing processes including RFP management, supplier assessment, negotiation, and contract finalization.
• Oversee supplier relationships, conduct performance evaluations, manage governance procedures, and explore opportunities for supplier consolidation and innovation.
• Enhance total cost of ownership, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to procurement policies and controls.
• Drive procurement transformation projects, such as integration and adoption of AI-enabled intake-to-pay systems.
• Develop and refine procurement workflows, approval mechanisms, and user experience to boost efficiency and scalability.
• Translate organizational requirements into technology specifications and continuously improve procurement operations.
• Provide training, enablement, and support for change management to foster adoption of new procurement methodologies.
• Lead and mentor procurement team members, manage vendor partnerships, and support daily procurement functions.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in procurement category leadership, successfully overseeing complex categories and strategic sourcing projects.
• At least 3 years managing teams, with proven skills in coaching and development.
• Strong negotiation capabilities with a history of achieving cost savings and impactful business outcomes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of procurement best practices, category management, supplier strategies, market dynamics, and contract management.
• Experience administering end-to-end Source-to-Pay cycles and leading procurement transformation efforts.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaboration with executive and cross-functional groups.
• Robust analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational competencies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline preferred; MBA is strongly favored.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM are advantageous.
• Familiarity with AI-based procurement platforms, intake-to-pay solutions, or ERP systems like NetSuite is desirable.
• Experience in education technology, contract consolidation, or overseeing strategic agreements across multiple entities is a plus.
