Role Overview

This role is part of the Developer Experience team, whose goal is to enable engineers to perform their work efficiently, comfortably, and safely. Based in Hyderabad, the team spans US and India, working on diverse projects that improve developer productivity and system reliability.

The role's responsibilities include managing AI tools, development environments (remote and local), build systems, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, testing, and verification processes. The position requires presence in the Hyderabad office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for collaborative work.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain AI-driven tools to automatically resolve bugs in the Notion application, improving resolution accuracy and support efficiency.
• Enhance continuous integration and build systems to provide developers with faster feedback on breakages, targeting a 5-minute CI cycle time.
• Develop and refine developer features in AI-powered remote development environments, contributing to the evolution of software engineering practices.
• Execute a collaborative roadmap aligned with the US engineering team focusing on increasing developer satisfaction and enablement, guided by developer experience surveys.
• Engage cross-functionally to deliver superior developer tools involving technologies like the TypeScript language server, linting tools, and the Notion CLI to enhance daily developer workflows.

Qualifications and Skills

• Over 10 years of robust software engineering experience translated into practical delivery of complex projects from ambiguous goals.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to define technical roadmaps, plan, and successfully manage large projects while inspiring the team.
• Adaptable and enthusiastic about learning new technologies, with a demonstrated history of innovation.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguous challenges and solving them through technology integration.
• Strong ownership mentality, ensuring project and team success.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with global cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in building or supporting developer tooling, focusing on CI/CD, infrastructure workflows, internal platforms emphasizing reliability and observability.
• Knowledge and comfort with creating AI-driven agent workflows including implementing guardrails, testing, evaluation, and iterative improvements.
• Understanding of workflow orchestration for agentic systems, including cost analysis, scalability, and verification loops.
• Skilled in systems-level debugging and performance optimization, capable of identifying bottlenecks and implementing practical solutions while avoiding undue complexity.
• Ability to accelerate team productivity through clear communication, thorough code reviews, and mentoring.
• Familiarity with building AI harnesses and tooling to support system context and analysis is advantageous.

Work Location & Schedule

This position is based in Hyderabad, India. The team operates on a hybrid model with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday to facilitate collaboration and collective problem-solving.
