Store Manager in Training

About the Role

As a Store Manager In Training (SMIT), you will embark on a development pathway intended to prepare you for a future leadership role as a CVS Store Manager. The SMIT program spans 16 weeks and combines virtual and hands-on learning experiences, facilitated by a support team including your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop leadership skills through a blend of self-paced and collaborative training activities.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to lead and support your team.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer needs attentively.
• Implement merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth.
• Manage inventory and protect store assets to sustain profitability.
• Actively participate in key learning experiences with your leadership to progress towards potential promotion.
• Support store operations as part of the management team, aligning with CVS values and policies.
• Engage and motivate colleagues to help advance the company’s mission of supporting people’s health journeys.
• Be open to promotion and potential transfers within the designated market area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Previous retail management experience or prior supervisory experience at CVS is advantageous.
• Willingness to accept a Store Manager promotion within the assigned market and transfer among CVS Pharmacy stores in that area.
• Ability to work varying schedules based on business needs.

Additional Information

The SMIT position does not guarantee a Store Manager promotion, as advancement depends on multiple factors such as performance and job openings. The program expects a commitment to growth and professional development.

Work Hours and Compensation

This full-time position requires approximately 45 hours per week. The compensation range typically falls between $18.50 and $23.88 per hour, with actual pay depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
