Overview
The Store Team Lead & Inventory Controller manages daily operations within the stores department, championing inventory accuracy throughout the company. This is a practical leadership position requiring active team support and accountability for stock management and continuous enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide the stores personnel daily.
- Assign tasks ensuring key priorities are fulfilled.
- Demonstrate leadership through hands-on involvement.
- Train and assist team members to enhance performance.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive work environment.
- Precisely receive, store, and dispatch goods.
- Prepare production kits accurately and punctually.
- Organize store layout to streamline efficient item picking.
- Label and arrange stock appropriately.
- Guarantee inventory accuracy at all store locations.
- Conduct daily cycle counts following company protocols.
- Investigate discrepancies in inventory and determine root causes.
- Analyze stock movements and transactions using the Epicor system.
- Confirm material issues and job consumption details.
- Support Bill of Materials (BOM) and stock inquiries when needed.
- Lead stocktaking activities to ensure precise inventory records.
- Develop and refine inventory control procedures for continuous improvement.
- Identify and reduce stock inconsistencies.
- Contribute to warehouse layout and storage optimizations.
- Promote stock rotation and manage obsolete stock initiatives.
- Assist in establishing Kanban and replenishment processes where beneficial.
- Recommend upgrades to store efficiency and inventory management.
- Ensure accurate entry of inventory transactions in Epicor.
- Support ERP inventory process improvements.
- Generate inventory reports as required.
- Ensure production receives necessary materials on schedule.
- Respond promptly to material shortages.
- Collaborate with Purchasing on stock shortage issues.
- Work closely with Production and Planning to prioritize urgent needs.
- Advocate and enforce safe working practices.
- Keep stores clean, tidy, and compliant with regulations.
- Engage in continuous improvement and safety programs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in stores, warehouse, or manufacturing environments.
- Prior team leadership experience or eagerness to take on leadership responsibilities.
- Strong organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Epicor is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to manage workload effectively in a busy setting.
- Positive mindset with a drive to enhance processes continuously.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
