Role Overview

We are searching for a driven Territory Manager to manage sales outcomes, ensure effective retail execution, and nurture customer relations across specific territories in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. This full-time position involves extensive travel and reporting responsibilities and directly supports store-level operations in coordination with national retailers, particularly focusing on garden center departments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Track and report sales metrics, assessing store conditions and identifying growth opportunities to achieve territorial objectives.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with store and garden center management teams, merchandising staff, plant leads, and district partners.
• Deliver training and coaching to store associates on ideal merchandising techniques, including rack arrangement, product positioning, plant care standards like culling and watering, and overall garden center presentation.
• Support merchandising efforts during seasonal product resets and transitions while managing inventory and ensuring compliance with company merchandising policies.
• Conduct frequent store visits to engage with retail teams, solve challenges, and identify improvement areas.
• Complete daily reports of store visits using designated software, submitting updates by end of each day.
• Coordinate travel itineraries, prioritize store visits, manage expenses, and maintain consistent communication with the Field Operations Manager to align territory efforts.
• Travel extensively across the territory, averaging visits to four stores daily, with 2 to 3 overnight stays weekly, working in variable outdoor weather conditions.

Candidate Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in field sales, retail operations, merchandising, or territory oversight.
• Previous experience collaborating with large retail chains, especially in garden center or seasonal outdoor product categories.
• Comprehensive understanding of retail operations spanning store, district, and corporate levels.
• Familiarity with merchandising standards, seasonal reset processes, and best practices in garden center management preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of fostering cooperation with multi-level teams.
• Proven ability to teach, mentor, and positively influence store personnel to enhance merchandising execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and reporting tools.
• Clean driving history without significant moving violations.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary will be commensurate with experience. The benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, along with paid vacation time.
