Position Overview
The Corporate Development Analyst is essential in advancing the firm's acquisition strategy and managing its portfolio. This role encompasses the entire acquisition lifecycle, from opportunity assessment to post-acquisition integration and ongoing monitoring, focusing primarily on inventory-based businesses.
Key Duties
- Assist in identifying and evaluating acquisition candidates supporting strategic growth goals.
- Develop financial models, conduct valuation assessments, and appraise investment returns.
- Perform market, competitor, and industry research to pinpoint prospective acquisitions.
- Engage in due diligence activities, examining financial, operational, and commercial aspects.
- Analyze historical financials, working capital patterns, profitability factors, and inventory data.
- Create presentations and formal investment proposals for senior leadership review.
- Support the integration and performance management of acquired entities.
- Track acquired business outcomes against established financial and operational metrics.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency within the portfolio.
- Collaborate with finance and operations to monitor key indicators and realize synergies.
- Produce reports and analytical solutions facilitating executive decision-making.
- Conduct detailed financial examinations focusing on inventory, working capital, and operations.
- Detect trends, assess risks, and uncover opportunities within portfolio companies.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts.
- Participate in special projects, business evaluations, and growth initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
- At least five years of professional experience in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Transaction Advisory, Strategic Finance, or allied sectors.
- Strong capabilities in financial modeling, business valuation, and comprehensive analysis.
- Hands-on exposure to mergers and acquisitions processes including diligence and integration.
- Preferred knowledge of inventory-oriented business models like manufacturing, distribution, retail, or consumer product industries.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional communication and presentation talents.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment handling multiple tasks.
