Job Summary
This entry-level position requires no prior professional experience. Selected candidates enter Safety’s structured training program where they acquire fundamental claims adjusting skills and investigative methods tailored to automobile physical damage claims. As a representative of Safety Insurance, the trainee will deliver high-quality customer service, demonstrating empathy and supportive interaction with policyholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate first notice of loss (FNOL) entries using proprietary software platforms.
- Interpret insurance coverage terms and recognize potential defenses related to coverage.
- Collect and evaluate information from insured parties, claimants, witnesses, and law enforcement to assess liability and damage extent.
- Gain proficiency in multiple software and database tools essential for claim management.
- Apply Massachusetts' Standards of Fault criteria to establish responsibility for claims.
- Identify subrogation possibilities to recover claim costs.
- Maintain effective collaborative relationships with agency partners.
- Provide outstanding claim handling services to customers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Experience in customer service is advantageous.
- Strong communication capabilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate and function effectively within a team environment.
