About the company
You’ll be joining a rapidly expanding organisation that is funded by the government and working to build out its capabilities.
About the role
This position is for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer who can help shape the organisation’s BI function from the beginning. It is suited to someone who enjoys designing scalable reporting and analytics solutions while handling both project delivery and day-to-day operational support.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to define reporting needs, improve data movement and quality, and turn information into insights that inform business decisions. A major part of the role involves working with and connecting data from Microsoft Dynamics CRM, so direct experience with Dynamics CRM is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Create, enhance, and support BI dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
- Set up a durable reporting and BI environment from the outset.
- Design data models, integration workflows, and reporting structures that can scale.
- Pull, transform, and interpret data from Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other internal systems.
- Work with stakeholders across the business to gather needs and convert them into technical deliverables.
- Build data quality, integrity, and governance practices into BI outputs and processes.
- Support and improve current reporting tools as part of ongoing business-as-usual work.
- Manage and deliver BI projects while balancing operational priorities.
- Spot opportunities to streamline processes and automate work using data and analytics.
What you need to succeed
- Previous experience in a BI Developer, Data Analyst, or comparable business intelligence role.
- Hands-on Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience is required.
- Background in creating BI capabilities, reporting frameworks, or analytics platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and sound data modelling knowledge.
- Experience using Power BI or a similar reporting and visualisation tool.
- Working knowledge of ETL, data integration, and data warehousing principles.
- Comfortable speaking with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and communication skills.
- Self-driven approach with the ability to work independently and own results.
Location and eligibility
This role is based in Wellington, and candidates must already be located in Wellington. Applicants must hold a valid New Zealand work visa at the time of application.
