CNC Programmer / Machinist Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer and Machinist Engineer to join ITSS Engineering’s team located in Warkworth, Auckland. Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs utilizing CAM software for machining operations.
• Execute machining of parts following engineering drawings and strict tolerances.
• Choose appropriate tooling and secure workholding solutions.
• Conduct job proving and apply practical adjustments to optimize machining.
• Work with various metals and engineering plastics including steels, non-ferrous metals.
• Perform inspections on machined components using precision measurement equipment.
• Contribute to improving production cycle times, tooling strategies, workflow efficiencies, and overall process reliability.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable CNC machining experience in engineering or precision manufacturing environments.
• Proficient in CNC programming with hands-on CAM software expertise.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, understand tolerance requirements, and accurately inspect finished components.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, feed rates, cutting speeds, surface finish expectations, and effective workholding techniques.
• Competency in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and thread gauges.
• Possession of a personal toolbox containing essential tools commonly used by skilled engineers.
• A dependable, accountable, and proactive work attitude.
• Prior experience in roles like Fitter Turner Machinist, Toolmaker, or CNC Machinist will be highly valued.
