About the Role
The Credit Manager will be responsible for managing risk and credit operations on assigned transactions within established frameworks, ensuring the maintenance of a strong portfolio quality. This position requires effective collaboration with Sales, Operations, and Technical teams to optimize risk management processes and enable sound business decisions.
Organizational Context
As part of Aditya Birla Capital Ltd, Aditya Birla Housing Finance Limited (ABHFL) is a national housing finance company registered with the National Housing Bank since July 2014. The company offers a complete portfolio of housing finance products including home loans, home improvement loans, construction financing, balance transfers, top-up loans, and loans against property. ABHFL aims for rapid expansion with a target to quintuple its portfolio to 40,000 Crores over the next five years, positioning itself among the top 5 percentile of housing finance companies nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute risk and credit operations for assigned basic transactions, abiding by defined underwriting frameworks across various business lines.
- Proactively seek guidance on technical and regional property-specific factors to enable effective risk assessment.
- Coordinate with legal, technical, and verification vendors for evaluations and clarifications on complex cases.
- Monitor bounce rates ensuring they stay within prescribed thresholds.
- Collaborate efficiently with Credit Processing Analysts to ensure correct logging and initiation of credit operations.
- Maintain seamless coordination with Sales and Operations teams for decision-making and problem resolution aligned with business and risk strategies.
- Manage external vendors to guarantee report quality and timely deliveries.
- Track and control costs to remain within budget constraints.
- Ensure precise data entry into Loan Origination Systems and maintain high-quality documentation.
- Oversee collection of post-disbursal documents within stipulated time frames.
- Ensure adherence to risk compliance through periodic MIS reporting and escalation of cases where necessary.
- Conduct risk operations based on defined 'Maker-Checker' principles with internal teams, covering approval exceptions, collateral valuations, and cheque bounce collections.
- Work closely with Collections and Operations teams to monitor delinquent accounts and support efficient recovery efforts, escalating complex cases as needed.
- Monitor delinquent portfolios, liaise with key customers, and assist collections teams for timely resolutions.
- Report identified fraud cases to the Risk Monitoring team and respective Regional/Zonal Heads.
- Commit to continuous professional development in risk assessment, underwriting, and technical knowledge related to legal documentation and property market practices.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders for effective handling of complex, escalation, or exception cases.

Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should possess a CA or MBA in Finance with 0 to 3 years of experience in banking, NBFC, or housing finance sectors. Strong business and commercial acumen, analytical capabilities, stakeholder management, presentation skills, and team leadership are essential.
