Install and set up hardware by unpacking, racking, stacking, and performing cabling tasks on servers, switches, and routers.
Diagnose hardware faults and replace defective components including network and security devices.
Oversee electrical systems including monitoring power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), branch circuits, and maintain diesel generators and distribution panels.
Manage cooling systems by tracking and optimizing computer room air conditioning (CRAC/CRAH) units and managing hot and cold aisle containment.
Inspect and maintain safety and fire prevention systems such as FM200/Inergen fire suppression, VESDA smoke detection, water leak detection, and fire alarms.
Install and troubleshoot server operating systems including Windows and Linux.
Respond promptly to alerts related to environmental conditions, power, or temperature to avoid critical failures.
Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee hardware asset lifecycle management.
Have thorough understanding of connectivity and operations of servers, storage, network, and security equipment.
Coordinate and supervise external electrical and HVAC contractors during critical maintenance activities.
Liaise with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as required.
Possess solid knowledge of passive cabling (CAT 6 and Fiber) including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Support failover testing and participate in data center and disaster recovery drills.
