Job description

Role Overview

As a Dispenser at Boots UK, you will play a vital role within the pharmacy team, aiding pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver safe, efficient pharmacy and health services. You'll engage with patients, understanding their healthcare needs, dispensing prescriptions accurately, and providing advice to promote informed decision-making about their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions ensuring safe medicine supply including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Collaborate with in-store healthcare professionals to assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services.
  • Offer care and medicine-related advice, escalating queries to pharmacists when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and lawful dispensing operations.
  • Stay informed on new store innovations and comply with operational guidelines.
  • Help patients manage prescriptions effectively, encouraging adherence and minimizing waste.
  • Utilize evolving in-store technologies to enhance dispensing processes, thereby increasing patient safety and enabling more patient interaction time.

Candidate Requirements

  • Completed NVQ2 Pharmacy Advisor qualification or equivalent, or currently progressing through the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • Possess valid UK right to work; sponsorship under Skilled Worker Visa is not offered for this role.
  • Experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not essential.

This is an in-store position based in the UK; remote locations and non-UK applicants without relevant qualifications and work rights will not be considered. Candidates successful in the selection process will undergo pre-employment screening, which may require DBS, PVG or Access NI checks depending on location. The hourly pay for this position starts at £13.92, with select London locations offering rates up to £16.64.
