Role Overview
The Distribution Planner plays a key role in supporting the development, management, and implementation of sales and inventory strategies at various product levels including categories and individual items. This role involves delivering critical data and insights to teams throughout the product lifecycle to guide decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute data-driven recommendations to shape department and class level sales and inventory plans.
- Support strategy formulation for allocation, packing, pre-packs, size assortment, and inventory balance.
- Manage ongoing, in-season adjustments to sales plans and inventory allocation.
- Oversee the initial release of inventory and verify accuracy of goods received to align with allocation strategies.
- Implement pricing approaches during the season and manage exceptions at the store level, including allocations for new stores.
- Handle allocation and replenishment processes of basic products utilizing demand forecasting tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Between 1 to 3 years of experience in distribution planning or a closely related analytical function.
- Strong analytical mindset with solid financial and business sense.
- Skilled in evaluating financial and operational metrics, transforming data into actionable insights, and proficient in retail mathematics.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly learn technical systems and tools.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $64,200 to $79,600 annually. J.Crew aims to offer competitive pay that reflects company standards, internal fairness, geographic factors, individual skills, and experience. The base salary is a part of a wider reward package including bonuses and benefits.
