Job description
Position Overview
The Duty Manager at Westin Hotels & Resorts in Singapore is responsible for managing guest check-ins, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining high standards of guest service. This role involves verifying guest identities, processing payments, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys, along with maintaining daily operational reports and security protocols.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee guest check-ins by confirming identity, payment methods, and issuing room keys.
- Accurately assign rooms and create guest accounts tailored to their needs.
- Manage Marriott Rewards information and ensure room rates correspond to market codes with exceptions documented.
- Secure payments before room key issuance and verify all billing details.
- Prepare and review daily logs, cashier closing reports, and contingency lists.
- Provide guests with directions and hotel information, addressing special requests promptly and coordinating with staff to fulfill them.
- Handle various payment types including vouchers, paid-outs, and charges, and ensure cash balancing and banking security at start and end of each shift.
- Perform manual payment authorizations and diligently follow accounting procedures.
- Report any reports of theft to Loss Prevention and Security teams.
- Support management in employee training, motivation, evaluation, and counseling.
- Serve as a role model and primary point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
- Maintain positive team relationships, uphold company policies, and report safety hazards promptly.
- Greet and assist guests with professionalism and courtesy, including those with disabilities, enhancing their experience.
- Maintain clear and professional communication across verbal and written platforms, including telephone etiquette.
- Utilize computer and POS systems effectively to retrieve and enter information.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking for extended periods, and handling objects up to 10 pounds.
- Complete additional duties as directed by supervisory staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in related work roles.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
