About the Role
Sophia Online Degree College (SODC), based in Bengaluru, is seeking a dedicated Educational Counsellor to support prospective students and professionals by providing tailored career and academic advice. The focus will be on guiding candidates towards suitable government-recognized distance education programs from approved Indian universities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver career counselling sessions via telephone, email, and in-person to understand individual student aspirations and needs.
- Assess educational qualifications, career objectives, available time, and budget to suggest optimal study programs.
- Handle both inbound and outbound inquiries, responding to questions about courses, fees, accreditations, and program schedules.
- Assist students throughout the enrollment process including documentation, eligibility verification, and fee coordination.
- Maintain detailed records of student communications within the CRM system.
- Achieve or surpass monthly admission and conversion targets set by the college.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum education requirement is completion of 12th grade; a graduate degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience in inside sales, customer relationship management, or education counselling is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiastic newcomers are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent command of English and local languages for effective communication.
- Strong negotiation, counselling, and interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in helping students with their educational decisions.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, organization, and time management.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with CRM software is beneficial.
Experience
- Accepting candidates with zero to two years of experience; freshers with strong communication abilities are welcome.
- Candidates with two to five years of background in educational counselling, admissions, tele-counselling, sales, or client management are preferred.
Additional Information
- Working days: Monday to Saturday
- Working hours: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
- Leaves granted according to company policy
- Monthly salary: INR 15,000 to 25,000
