Role Overview

We are currently looking for a skilled and proactive Electrical Design Engineer to be a vital part of our team working on a prominent road project located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Between 8 to 10 years of practical experience specifically in electrical design engineering for infrastructure, highways, transportation systems, or large urban development projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing road lighting systems, power distribution networks, substations, ITS infrastructure, utilities, and other outdoor electrical works.
• In-depth familiarity with international electrical design standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, SBC, among others.
• Proficient in electrical load assessments, cable routing, grounding and lightning protection schemes, as well as energy-efficient design methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with engineering design software including but not limited to ETAP, Dialux, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D or similar tools.
• Capability in coordinating multidisciplinary designs and working within Building Information Modeling (BIM) frameworks.
• Excellent technical reporting, design assessment, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Fluency in English both in writing and verbally.
• Previous professional experience with projects in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical system design, evaluation, and coordination for large highway and infrastructure developments.
• Compile and prepare detailed electrical design calculations, technical specifications, bills of quantities, load schedules, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings.
• Design and oversee installation of power distribution frameworks, substations, medium and low voltage networks, transformer setups, and backup power systems.
• Develop comprehensive electrical solutions for road lighting, tunnel illumination, traffic control systems, ITS, and utility infrastructures.
• Engage with civil, structural, mechanical, and road design teams to ensure integration and coordination of systems.
• Review and sanction technical submissions, shop drawings, material proposals, and vendor documents.
• Conduct in-depth power system analyses including load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, and cable sizing computations.
• Ensure all designs comply with international standards, project-specific requirements, local regulations, and utility guidelines.
• Participate actively in design review sessions, value engineering processes, and assessments for buildability.
• Provide ongoing engineering support through construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and final handover phases.
• Coordinate BIM modeling efforts and facilitate clash detection across multiple disciplines.
