Job Overview
The selected individual will join the Material Management Department within the SIA Engineering Division, focusing on procurement duties related to purchasing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pending purchase requisitions using SAP software.
- Identify and negotiate the best pricing and availability from suppliers.
- Address vendor price increases that exceed agreements defined in Purchase and Sale Agreements, Supplier Support Conditions, or Buyer Furnished Equipment contracts.
- Place purchase orders promptly to maintain adequate spare parts inventory.
- Assess inventory metrics—including chemicals, bulk materials, change kits, and spare parts consumption and reorder lead times—to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Monitor spare parts delivery progress ensuring adherence to lead times and completion of orders.
- Collaborate with vendors to coordinate delivery timelines and post-sales support aligned with operational needs.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to spare parts deliveries.
- Review outstanding price differences to avoid delays in invoice processing.
- Continuously monitor pricing variances to prevent aging discrepancies.
- Ensure spare parts availability to avoid any withdrawal of task cards.
- Regularly evaluate spare parts in consideration of task card requirements.
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma holder, preferably in an Engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with SAP transactions such as SQ01, MB51, MMBE is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (including pivot tables for trend analysis) and PowerPoint for presentation creation.
- Experience supporting commercial negotiations focused on fixed pricing.
- Prior knowledge and experience in material management operations, administration, and procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to effectively interact with vendors and engineering staff directly on the shop floor.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Self-motivated, driven, and exhibits teamwork as well as independent working capability.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Willingness and ability to work shifts.
