Finance Manager - Global Revenue Operations

About the Role

Publicis Sapient, a global digital transformation firm, is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Global Revenue Operations (GRO) team in Gurgaon, India. This position primarily focuses on overseeing revenue recognition for the Publicis Sapient India entity, ensuring precise revenue accounting, analysis, and reconciliations. The role entails close collaboration with teams across GRO, Client Finance, and Business Operations, both domestically and internationally. Acting as the primary point of contact for revenue-related challenges concerning Indian clients, the position demands strong analytical skills, critical judgment, innovative problem-solving, and strict compliance with organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end revenue accounting processes to guarantee accurate and complete revenue recognition, including job openings/closings, journal entry postings, account reconciliations, and variance analysis between forecasted and actual revenue.
• Ensure revenue compliance by reviewing client contracts under Group Policies and IFRS 15, supporting correct job setups in Salesforce and SAP.
• Handle audit compliance requirements by managing internal and external auditors and supporting audit requests to secure clean audit reports.
• Drive improvements in working capital management by collaborating with Client Finance and Business Operations teams to reconcile and clear balance sheet accounts through invoicing and cleanup activities.
• Support monthly financial reporting by working with the Controllership team, focusing on fluctuation analysis and aged review of unbilled revenue.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders beyond the GRO team by advising on revenue recognition matters, job setup inquiries, and the effects of client/job changes on revenue and margins.
• Take ownership of revenue-related balance sheet controls, reconciliations, and journal entries.

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated inquisitiveness and proactive attitude toward understanding processes and taking initiative in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in a comparable finance role, with a solid grasp of revenue accounting, financial reporting principles, and application of IFRS 15.
• Basic familiarity with Indian tax regulations, including GST and TDS.
• Strong analytical aptitude to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose viable solutions, along with creative thinking to resolve complex financial challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration capacities to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders at various hierarchical levels.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines under pressure, prioritize tasks efficiently, and demonstrate ownership and accountability.
• Experience in people management, including delegating team workloads, overseeing responsibilities, and mentoring junior staff.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Knowledge of SAP systems is considered advantageous.
