Job Overview

KBS invites applications for immediate full-time and permanent Floor Technician positions in Vista, CA. This role suits individuals eager to work in a dynamic setting and help maintain workplace safety.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $17.75 per hour.

Shift Information

Available shifts are to be specified upon hiring.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various floor care tasks including stain removal, extraction, hood cleaning, stripping/waxing, scrubbing/recoating, sealing/grouting, and more within designated work areas.
• Clean, polish, and repair both carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces using appropriate equipment and chemical products.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and stairs efficiently.
• Safely move furniture and heavy objects when necessary following safety protocols to prevent injuries.
• Maintain janitor closets neat, clean, and organized.
• Prepare chemicals and utilize equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
• Ensure all doors and windows of the building are properly secured.
• Report any required repairs, safety hazards, or conditions needing extra service to supervisors promptly.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.
• Carry out additional assigned tasks as needed.
• Operating cleaning equipment and using cleaning tools is preferred but not mandatory.
• Prior floor care experience of one year is preferred.

Job Requirements

• Ability to lift and move containers weighing up to 49 pounds.
• Competence in reading and interpreting safety regulations, operational procedures, and chemical handling documents typically in English (Spanish versions may be provided depending on state requirements).
• Capable of lifting and transporting objects ranging from 15 to 25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to bend, lift, stretch, and reach objects both below waist and above head frequently.
• Good manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
• Ability to climb stairs and walkways safely without restrictions.
• Proficient hand-eye, foot (pedal), manual (pinching, grabbing, holding), and wrist movements (flexion/rotation) coordination.
• Willingness and ability to use the KBSPresence mobile timekeeping software to clock in/out and manage attendance. The company reimburses phone usage expenses according to applicable local law.
