Nango, a YC W23 backed startup located in San Francisco, offers developers innovative solutions to build product integrations with AI. The company enables applications to easily connect with real-world services. Currently, over 500 paying customers including Replit and Ramp depend on Nango's platform. Operating with a mid-seven-figure ARR, the team has 14 members with backgrounds from leading tech companies such as AWS, GitHub, Okta, and Uber.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Founder's Associate to work directly alongside the two founders, playing a crucial role in scaling and managing the company. This highly cross-functional position provides exposure to strategy, growth, product development, and operations, representing a unique opportunity to experience startup-building firsthand.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the founders to address the highest-impact challenges spanning product development, market strategy, operations, finance, and recruitment.
• Take full ownership of ambiguous and strategic projects, ranging from pricing model redesigns to new AI opportunity assessments, product launches, and market positioning adjustments based on research.
• Conduct in-depth research on markets, ideal customer profiles, competitors, customer needs, and trends in AI and developer tools to shape Nango's growth direction.
• Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams to convert strategies into actionable outcomes and drive key priorities forward.
• Develop AI-driven systems, automation workflows, and internal tools that enhance scalability while minimizing operational complexity.
• Lead company-wide cross-functional initiatives including team offsites, ESOP management, certification processes, compliance efforts, and internal tooling projects.
• Manage and improve essential business operations such as finance, legal, billing, vendor relations, contractual agreements, and operational processes to support company growth.
• Serve as an extension of the founders, tackling critical tasks vital to establishing Nango as a leader in its category.

Candidate Profile

• Ambition to become a founder or passionate about contributing to company-building with a path to leadership roles.
• Technical proficiency including coding skills, API integrations, and building automation—typically with an engineering background.
• Heavy AI usage for research, writing, analysis, prototyping, and process automation, always seeking efficiency gains.
• Enthusiastic about startups, B2B software as a service, developer tools, and AI with a natural aptitude for understanding products, markets, customers, and business strategies.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking with the ability to learn rapidly in diverse areas such as pricing, legal, finance, and compliance.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguous challenges independently and driving projects to completion.
• Effective communicator capable of earning trust across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bonus qualifications: prior startup founding experience, early-stage startup roles, open-source contributions, developer product development, or experience in fast-growing B2B software firms.

Additional Information

This is an on-site position based in San Francisco, CA.

Compensation for this role ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 annually.
