Role Overview

The Freight Forwarder at RRS will be based in Port Sudan and Khartoum, with the option for some remote work. This full-time role involves orchestrating the entire shipment process—from coordinating transportation to handling export paperwork and tracking shipments. Daily tasks include collaborating with freight carriers, customs officials, and NGO clients, resolving logistical challenges, and ensuring all shipping activities comply with international regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate freight movement from point of origin to destination, managing all aspects of transport arrangements.
• Prepare and verify export documentation and ensure adherence to customs and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor shipment statuses, update customers regularly, and maintain accurate shipment records within internal systems.
• Engage with carriers, customs agents, and customers to address operational issues promptly.
• Work alongside internal teams to optimize delivery routes, control costs, and guarantee timely freight delivery, especially under high-risk circumstances.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven expertise in freight forwarding and shipment coordination to oversee complete logistical processes.
• Skills in export operations, including managing documentation, customs compliance, and regulatory protocols.
• Experience with freight transportation planning, carrier selection, and multimodal logistics management.
• Strong customer service abilities to effectively communicate with clients, resolve queries, and set expectations.
• Preferably experienced in international logistics, especially within humanitarian or NGO supply chains.
• Excellent organizational capabilities, high attention to detail, and capacity to perform under pressure in dynamic settings.
• Competency in office software and logistics tools; fluent English communication skills are essential, with regional language knowledge considered a plus.
• A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related fields is preferred, alongside ethical and inclusive workplace commitment.
