Job Overview
The role of Global Operations Program Manager for Asia is tasked with steering, aligning, and ensuring the effective delivery of key strategic operations programs within the Changi locale and throughout Asia. The position oversees multifaceted initiatives such as new product industrialization, product transfers, cost reduction efforts, capacity augmentation, manufacturing streamlining, and significant automation upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish governance for projects including milestones and decision points, following established procedures such as transfer checklists or project management methods like SPEED or Healthcare frameworks.
- Map out project dependencies and resource conflicts, ensuring synchronization across business units and operations teams.
- Highlight risks promptly and develop mitigation strategies.
- Develop comprehensive project schedules using tools like Microsoft Project.
- Coordinate industrialization efforts engaging all relevant parties.
- Oversee execution and monitoring of manufacturing, equipment, raw materials, and process qualification metrics including quality, cost, and lead time.
- Manage product and process qualification plans for internal and client communications along with ramp-up reviews.
- Administer and supervise product transfers across manufacturing facilities and monitor production capacity requirements, bottlenecks, capital expenditure proposals, and project progressions.
- Facilitate the transfer of knowledge between sites and produce transfer master plans and validation documentation.
- Drive manufacturing cost efficiency initiatives and regularly implement cost-reduction actions.
- Support design-to-cost and value engineering approaches.
- Coordinate projects related to automation and digital transformation.
- Track financial savings collaboratively with local or operations finance teams.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Experienced in global project execution and planning with Lean manufacturing tools tailored for problem-solving and improvement.
- Proficient in program and portfolio management.
- Knowledgeable on Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experienced with manufacturing operations and cost improvement techniques.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities, effective stakeholder management.
- Outcome-driven with sound decision-making aptitude.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or related fields complemented by project management certification and/or business management education.
- At least ten years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in electronics, semiconductors, RFID, medical devices, or large-scale industrial manufacturing is essential.
- Fluency in English and Chinese languages required.
