Housekeeping Supervisor

Position Overview

As a Housekeeping Supervisor at Courtyard by Marriott located at 99 Irrawaddy Road, Novena, Singapore, you will play an essential role in overseeing the quality and coordination of housekeeping services to ensure impeccable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect cleaned guest rooms, public spaces, and facilities such as the pool to maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality.
• Utilize sold room reports to verify room statuses, identify discrepancies, prioritize cleaning tasks, and update departing room statuses efficiently.
• Support housekeeping management in daily operational activities and act as a liaison among Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments to ensure seamless coordination.
• Record and resolve discrepancies in room conditions in collaboration with the Front Desk.
• Manage preparation and distribution of room assignment updates and communicate issues effectively across shifts.
• Assist management with recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of housekeeping staff.
• Adhere strictly to company, safety, and security policies, reporting hazards, maintenance issues, accidents, and injuries promptly; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, contributing to a secure and respectful workplace environment.
• Provide excellent guest service by greeting guests appropriately, anticipating and addressing their needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation.
• Establish and nurture positive working relationships with colleagues, responding appropriately to concerns and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards consistently.
• Perform physical tasks including moving objects up to 55 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance; operate housekeeping carts and related equipment safely over varying surfaces.
• Execute physical activities such as bending, reaching, stooping, and standing for prolonged periods during shifts.
• Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to manipulate objects and perform tasks requiring precision.
• Effectively utilize computers or point-of-sale systems to access and enter work-related information, and verify details in various formats.
• Undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a related housekeeping role.
• At least one year of supervisory experience within a housekeeping or similar environment.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
