Position Overview
The HR Data and Benefits Coordinator is tasked with managing advanced functions within the district's Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to maintain data integrity, while also overseeing district benefits, retirements, and medical leave processes. This role involves compiling and analyzing HR metrics to deliver insightful reporting to HR leadership. It ensures accuracy and efficiency throughout the employee lifecycle and compliance with applicable state and federal leave regulations.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or alternatively, at least five years of relevant experience alongside a high school diploma.
- Between three to five years of experience in a human resources setting, focusing on data management and HRIS systems; prior experience with TylerMunis Enterprise is advantageous.

- Comprehensive knowledge of ADA, State and Federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) regulations, and Wisconsin Retirement Pension System guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate entry, maintenance, and updates of employee data within the district’s HRIS (Tyler Munis).
- Conduct regular data audits and generate reports to monitor system integrity and address discrepancies.
- Validate personnel transaction accuracy and employee record changes.
- Gather HR metrics from multiple sources including HRIS, employee surveys, and comparative data from neighboring districts.
- Analyze HR data and prepare reports for the Chief Human Resources Officer.
- Manage State and Federal FMLA and district medical leave programs, including evaluation of medical documentation and determination of eligibility and work-related considerations.
- Coordinate disability benefits and liaise with employees, medical professionals, insurers, and Social Security for short- and long-term disability cases.
- Administer follow-ups related to leave extensions, medical clearances, and documentation tracking.
- Communicate comprehensive benefits information covering medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement accounts, disability, and life insurance.
- Assist employees with retirement or resignation procedures, particularly concerning Medicare transitions and the Wisconsin Retirement Pension System.
- Support onboarding, open enrollment, and benefit orientation sessions.
- Perform additional HR office duties as assigned.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Capability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to six hours in an eight-hour workday.
- Occasionally lift light weights up to ten pounds within an office environment.
- Communicate effectively both via telephone and face-to-face.
- Maintain hand-eye coordination necessary for operating computers and office equipment.
- Possess adequate hearing to engage in multiple conversations daily.
- Maintain focus and concentration on time-sensitive, accuracy-critical tasks.
- Work occurs in a busy, high-priority, fast-paced professional office with frequent interruptions.
