About the Organization
The C.A.R.E. Wellness Center is a nonprofit organization based in Washington State, dedicated to healing, community building, and racial justice through nature-centered initiatives. They focus on providing secure farm stays, holistic retreats, and wellness interventions mainly for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and their allies. Their mission targets the effects of Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome (PTSS) by fostering spiritual growth, agrotourism, and racial equity. The center uses trauma-informed, dignity-centered methodologies to support vulnerable groups including justice-involved individuals and former foster-care youth. Their long-term vision includes acquiring farmland to create a spiritual retreat space for healing and self-actualization. All programs align with community-based research directed at PTSS recovery and racial justice education.
