About Eventscape and the Role
Eventscape, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, specializes in engineering, fabricating, and installing innovative architectural projects for leading architects, developers, and artists. We are seeking a qualified Human Resources Manager to collaborate closely with manufacturing and operations leaders, supporting multiple facilities in the U.S. and Canada, including locations in Ontario and Long Island City, NY.
Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, this key position oversees workforce strategy, employee engagement, and compliance, facilitating daily HR functions within a vibrant manufacturing setting. The HR Manager champions critical people initiatives that drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and organizational expansion, while supporting change management and integrating acquisitions aligned with company values and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted HR partner to plant and operations leaders, enhancing performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
- Manage HR operations across various manufacturing sites, ensuring adherence to federal and provincial labor regulations.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance assessments, and talent development for both salaried and hourly employees.
- Support organizational change initiatives, including Lean processes, continuous improvement, and acquisition integration with effective change management.
- Coach and mentor site leadership and frontline supervisors, advising on staffing strategies and people decisions.
- Analyze workforce data and HR metrics to identify trends and develop actionable improvement strategies.
- Lead succession planning, turnover management, training programs, and leadership development to strengthen the internal talent pipeline.
- Supervise and develop HR team members, including HR Generalists and Recruitment/Special Projects staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience within a multi-shift manufacturing environment, including managing HR personnel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employee relations, staffing, compensation, benefits, compliance, and workforce management.
- Thorough understanding of Ontario Labour Standards; familiarity with U.S. federal employment laws is advantageous.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems such as SuccessFactors and Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Attributes
- Legal authorization to work in both Canada and the U.S., facilitating collaboration between Toronto and New York offices.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites across regions or countries.
- Demonstrated involvement in post-acquisition HR integration or broad organizational change projects.
- Advanced HR certifications like SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, or CHRP.
- A leadership approach combining credibility, approachability, and effective execution.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range spans from $95,000 to $115,000 annually, contingent on the candidate's location, skills, expertise, and experience. The compensation package also includes standard benefits such as medical, dental, prescription drug coverage, life insurance, vacation, and sick leave.
