Job Overview
The Industrial Engineer will contribute to the design, enhancement, and implementation of integrated manufacturing or administrative systems involving human resources, materials, data, machinery, and energy resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing standard operating procedures for both new and existing production lines.
- Help develop ergonomic, safe, and efficient manufacturing workstations incorporating plant layout and workstation design best practices.
- Support cost evaluation for make-or-buy decisions concerning components or sub-assemblies.
- Analyze current production workflows to identify potential improvements in cycle time, layout optimization, and workforce allocation.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma efforts aimed at boosting productivity.
- Conduct time and method studies along with line balancing to improve operational efficiency.
- Work towards enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Create and maintain Standard Work Instructions and other process documentation.
- Assist in space and material flow planning for plant layout optimization.
- Track and improve performance indicators such as Productivity, Cost, Quality, and Delivery.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support smooth operations.
- Facilitate new product or line introductions and validate manufacturing processes.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities related to manpower, material handling, and cycle times.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and ergonomic standards to foster a safe working environment.

Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) or equivalent STEM qualification is required.
Experience Requirements
Between 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or operations, preferably in the automotive sector.
Skills and Tools
- Strong familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools: 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Line Balancing.
- Basic knowledge of Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations.
- Experience with time study methodologies including MOST and MTM preferred.
- Understanding of key manufacturing performance indicators such as OEE, RFT, and productivity metrics.
- Exposure to AutoCAD or related layout software is advantageous.
