This role involves hands-on work transforming concepts into functional prototypes, streamlining manual operations, and leveraging technologies like robotics, machine vision, and laser systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Discover ways to automate manual tasks, enhancing safety, quality, efficiency, and consistency.
• Develop innovative designs from concept to prototype and testing stages.
• Utilize robotics, machine vision, laser technology, and other emerging tech to address engineering challenges.
• Quickly build mock-ups and proof-of-concept prototypes to evaluate ideas and learn rapidly.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and layouts to aid design, construction, and communication.
• Build, wire, and test your own designs, owning the practical implementation and validation processes.
• Design and troubleshoot pneumatic systems integrated into automated equipment and prototypes.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams to understand challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Analyze test outcomes, incorporate feedback, and refine designs to boost reliability, usability, and performance.
• Assist with integrating new equipment, processes, and technologies into operational settings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven practical engineering skills fueled by a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
• Experience with CAD software for developing concepts, layouts, parts, or assemblies.
• Basic programming skills or motivation to learn programming related to automation, controls, data collection, or prototype testing.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic system components, safe assembly principles, and basic troubleshooting.
• Keen interest in robotics, machine vision, lasers, automation, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Capability to construct, wire, test, and debug prototypes or engineering systems.
• Proactive attitude with the confidence to experiment, learn swiftly, and adapt when initial attempts fail.
• Strong communication skills enabling clear explanations of technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
