Overview
The Interface Manager will oversee and coordinate all technical, construction, stakeholder, utility, and operational interfaces to ensure seamless integration among bridge structures, roadways, utility diversions, traffic management, public realm elements, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Project Interface Management Plan aligned with project standards and client requirements.
- Set up interface management procedures, protocols, and governance frameworks.
- Identify, define, and manage project interfaces throughout the lifecycle, maintaining comprehensive Interface Registers and Matrices.
- Promote timely resolution of interface challenges and facilitate effective communication among stakeholders.
- Coordinate engineering, design, construction, and controls teams for smooth project delivery.
- Analyze design outputs to identify potential interface risks and conflicts, conducting multidisciplinary coordination workshops.
- Track design changes and mitigate clashes impacting bridges, roadways, utilities, and transport infrastructure.
- Oversee utility relocation and protection efforts, ensuring integration with schedules and construction plans.
- Facilitate technical reviews and approvals involving utilities.
- Manage traffic and operational interfaces related to bridge construction, aligning construction staging with traffic management strategies and coordinating with transportation authorities.
- Administer interfaces between ongoing construction and live operational road networks, supporting mobility management plans.
- Identify and manage interface risks, maintaining Risk Registers and mitigation actions, escalating critical issues as needed.
- Oversee sequencing, access, and coordination among contractors during construction to prevent impacts on adjacent works.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover phases by coordinating system readiness, operational integration, and closure of interface requirements.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports on interface management, tracking KPIs and project performance indicators.
- Ensure all interface activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, encouraging safe coordination and supporting sustainability goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Transportation Engineering, or related fields.
- Master's degree in Project Management, Infrastructure Management, or Engineering Management preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 highly preferred.
- Membership with recognized engineering professional bodies is advantageous.
- 12-15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure and transportation projects.
- At least 7 years in interface management, design-construction integration, or project coordination roles.
- Strong background managing interfaces on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Experience in Saudi Arabia and GCC projects is highly valued.
- Familiarity working with clients, government bodies, PMCs, consultants, and large contractors.
