Role overview
The Passport Work and Travel Services Limited is hiring an International Program Coordinator to oversee and grow its cultural exchange and education-focused offerings. The position is based on-site in Kingston, Jamaica, at Unit 8, 18 Balmoral Avenue, and reports to the Office Manager. This is a two-year contract with a monthly salary of JMD 100,000 to JMD 120,000.
The coordinator will support the company’s Bridge USA J1 portfolio, including Summer Work & Travel, Camp Counselor, and Intern/Trainee programs, as well as the Carib Student brand, which connects students and professionals with international study abroad and career development opportunities.
Core duties
- Handle the complete journey for each applicant, from first enquiry and sign-up through screening, document collection, and final deployment.
- Track program steps and verify that J1 applicants meet required conditions such as full-time student status and a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Manage the Carib Student matching process and connect candidates with partner universities in Canada, the USA, Dubai, Germany, and Turkey.
- Prepare, review, arrange, and submit required files such as status letters, digital visa photographs, background checks, and financial evidence.
- Work directly with US J1 sponsors and overseas university admissions teams to coordinate placements and monitor approval progress.
- Maintain adherence to Jamaican Ministry of Labour requirements and all relevant visa and embassy regulations.
- Interview and pre-screen candidates to assess English ability, maturity, and ties to Jamaica.
- Run pre-departure orientation sessions and guide clients through U.S. and Canadian embassy interview processes.
- Provide clear, dependable customer service that supports the company’s mission of rebuilding confidence in travel services.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or another closely related discipline.
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in recruitment, travel services, visa coordination, or customer support operations.
- Previous participation in a J1 or study abroad program is considered a strong advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to give precise, professional guidance.
- Comfort working with digital systems, online tracking tools, databases, and electronic documentation.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage several student groups and deadlines at the same time.
Additional information
This role is a 2-year full-time onsite contract in Kingston, Jamaica. The stated compensation is JMD 100,000 to JMD 120,000 per month.
