Role Overview
An asset management firm in Doha is seeking an Investment Associate to assist in analyzing, executing, and continuously monitoring investment portfolios across a range of asset classes and strategies. The position entails close collaboration with the Manager – Investments to contribute throughout the entire investment process, from initial opportunity evaluation to performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Manager – Investments to assess investment opportunities, execute investments, and oversee portfolio monitoring.
- Perform market research, create financial models, conduct valuations, due diligence, structure investments, review legal frameworks, and participate in negotiations.
- Support analysis and research efforts for listed equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, alternative investments, funds, and direct investments, covering multiple strategies and sectors.
- Develop, review, and update financial models for current and potential investments.
- Track the performance of portfolio companies and asset classes, and analyze prospective investment opportunities.
- Conduct valuation, investment return forecasts, and sensitivity analyses.
- Carry out performance and market analyses; input data into systems, assess outputs, and generate customized reports.
- Maintain and enhance Excel-based system infrastructure and spreadsheets.
- Assist in preparing presentations for investment committee meetings.
- Participate in special projects as needed and fulfill other assigned tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required.
- Progress toward credentials such as CFA, MBA, or relevant investment management certifications is highly regarded.
- Between 6 to 8 years of professional experience, including at least 4 years in asset or investment management, corporate finance, equity research, or investment banking.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, especially in transaction modelling, with proficient knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience using business and industry information platforms like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, and Refinitiv Eikon.
- Extensive practical experience managing investments with a mandate involving multiple strategies and asset classes.
- Fluent English communication skills are essential; knowledge of Arabic is favorable.
- Familiarity with investor relations, sustainability, and ESG reporting frameworks is preferred.
