Role Overview
The IT Support Specialist will serve as the primary technical support contact for employees at our UK or German offices. This position is critical in maintaining productivity by quickly resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues and managing devices and accounts across multiple platforms. Collaborating with the IT engineering team, the role aims to identify common problems and implement automation to elevate service quality within Helsing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance to end-users through Slack, email, and in-person troubleshooting covering macOS, Windows, and iOS devices.
- Handle tickets via Jira Service Management with prompt resolution, transparent communication, and escalate complex issues to IT engineers when necessary.
- Manage full user and device lifecycle processes such as onboarding, offboarding, MDM enrollment, account provisioning, and access reviews.
- Maintain office technology including video conferencing hardware, meeting rooms, printers, and provide support during company events.
- Administer daily operations of Microsoft 365 services (Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) and other SaaS platforms utilized within Helsing.
- Create and update documentation, runbooks, and self-help resources to enhance team efficiency.
- Identify recurring issues and collaborate with IT engineering to develop long-term solutions and automate workflows.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum three years experience in IT support roles, ideally including Level 2 or 3 responsibilities within dynamic environments.
- Proficient in supporting macOS, Windows, and iOS platforms along with strong troubleshooting skills for identity, endpoints, and SaaS services.
- Passionate about problem-solving, eager to adapt to new technology, and dedicated to supporting colleagues.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining composure and prioritizing urgent tasks.
- Proactive in detecting potential issues before escalation.
- Customer-centric approach with excellent communication skills focused on user satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on administration experience with Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint).
- Experience using Mobile Device Management tools such as Intune, Jamf, or JumpCloud.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python to automate routine processes.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, Zero Trust security models, and VPN diagnostics.
- Exposure to startup or scale-up environments requiring adaptability.
- Familiarity with regulated, security-sensitive industries such as defense, government, or finance.
