Role Overview
As an IT Support Specialist based at the Melbourne office, you will be responsible for maintaining and securing IT systems for both Howatson+Company and Plus Also Studios. Collaborating closely with the Agency Support team, you will manage the IT needs related to onboarding and offboarding employees and provide rapid technical problem resolution while safeguarding sensitive data.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and sustain servers, network infrastructure, and cloud systems to ensure security, stability, and scalability.
- Respond promptly to technical incidents to minimize service interruptions.
- Perform scheduled backups, system updates, and routine maintenance while monitoring system performance to prevent issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, IT policies, and coordinate onboarding and offboarding procedures.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and ensure proper approval protocols for data access.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in system administration including management of Linux servers and macOS desktops.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, firewall configurations, VPNs, and security best practices, with hands-on experience using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in database management using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL, alongside version control systems like Git.
- Capability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and clearly communicate solutions to non-technical personnel.

- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Proactive, collaborative approach to assisting colleagues beyond regular support tickets.
- Continually motivated to learn new technologies and skills.
- Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible and CI/CD pipelines including GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
