Junior Data Engineer

Role Overview

This part-time remote Junior Data Engineer position involves providing support in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure. Daily responsibilities include assisting with the construction and supervision of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, aiding in the modeling and documentation of data structures, as well as contributing to the deployment of data warehousing solutions. The role includes working alongside senior colleagues to ensure the quality, dependability, and performance of data across analytics and reporting systems.

Additional duties involve troubleshooting data-related problems, optimizing pre-existing workflows, and engaging with stakeholders to comprehend data requirements and convert them into effective technical implementations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Fundamental knowledge of Data Engineering, including experience with data pipelines, integration tools, and basic scripting or programming for processing data.
• Proficiency in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing to create structured datasets, define schemas, and manage scalable storage solutions.
• Experience with ETL processes such as constructing, scheduling, and monitoring workflows that transfer and transform data across multiple systems.
• Ability to analyze data sets to extract insights, supporting reporting and visualization efforts.
• Working familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language used in data engineering, like Python or Java.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently within a remote and collaborative team.
• Preferred coursework or practical exposure in computer science, information systems, or related disciplines; experience with cloud-based data platforms is an advantage.
