Junior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role supports mechanical work delivery by assisting in reviewing designs, coordinating multidisciplinary efforts, and ensuring smooth implementation of construction activities on-site. The Junior Mechanical Engineer works under the direction of the Senior Mechanical Engineer and reports to the Design Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site mechanical engineering support, addressing technical queries and clarifications.
• Review mechanical installations such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Identify and report site issues, non-conformities or discrepancies to senior engineers.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with other disciplines like structural, architectural, and electrical to prevent conflicts.
• Support inspection, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Create and update sketches, mark-ups, and basic mechanical drawings using CAD/BIM software to assist site operations.
• Develop redline and as-built drawings reflecting actual on-site conditions.
• Assist with mechanical shop drawings, submittals, and method statements review, ensuring alignment with project standards.
• Help prepare responses to RFIs, technical queries, and manage quality issues and non-conformance reports.
• Maintain effective communication with site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers; participate in coordination meetings.
• Adopt continuous improvement measures, enhance mechanical system knowledge, and share expertise within the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4 to 7 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in construction or design-build projects.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system implementations.
• Basic to intermediate skills with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM technologies.
• Understanding of multidisciplinary coordination and construction workflows.
• Competent in producing mechanical drawings, sketches, and markups to support site needs.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.

Additional Information

The position is site-based in Saudi Arabia, requiring collaboration across various disciplines to ensure compliance with quality and design intent. Certification in mechanical engineering is advantageous but not required.
