About the Role
Meta is searching for a skilled qualified accountant to join the International Statutory Controllership Team. This position involves leading a statutory controllership process globally while serving as the controller for a portfolio of Meta's Latin American entities. The role combines statutory accounting expertise with leadership in automation and AI initiatives to redefine controllership within a technology-driven environment. This senior position demands strong technical skills and the ability to influence multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a global statutory control and ownership process area, establishing standards, controls, and promoting ongoing improvements throughout the international entity portfolio.
- Serve as the entity controller for several Latin American entities, ensuring adherence to local GAAP, regulations, and Meta's group reporting standards.
- Lead automation and AI initiatives to enhance and scale accounting and compliance activities across jurisdictions.
- Apply advanced technical judgment to complex statutory accounting issues spanning multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure statutory compliance and support business growth in emerging markets.
- Design and implement scalable processes and technology solutions that align with the evolving operating model of the team.
- Maintain strong internal controls to guarantee governance, compliance, and SOX requirements are met.
- Effectively communicate complex accounting and regulatory matters to senior leaders, auditors, and collaborators.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in local compliance and statutory accounting for international, multi-jurisdictional entities.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proven history of leading accounting or finance process automation or transformation projects.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP with practical experience applied in multinational environments.
- Comfortable working with AI and automation tools to enhance productivity and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AI governance concerning financial reporting.
- Experience integrating AI tools to improve workflows, increasing efficiency and quality.
- Continuous development of AI skills such as prompt engineering and tool orchestration, staying current on new AI technologies.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new tools and methodologies.
- Experience supporting business expansions or regulatory changes in complex regions.
- Hands-on experience developing or implementing AI/automation solutions within finance.
- Knowledge of responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality reviews.
- Direct involvement with statutory accounting and compliance processes.
