Role overview
Etihad Airways is hiring a seasoned Data Architect to help shape the company’s enterprise data landscape. In this position, you will design scalable data architectures, support cloud modernization efforts, and enable stronger capabilities in analytics, AI, and business intelligence across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Create and oversee enterprise data solutions that fit business priorities, architecture guidelines, and technology direction.
- Architect modern data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics environments built on Azure.
- Establish and encourage architecture standards, reusable design patterns, governance models, and best practices across the Data Agile Release Train (DART).
- Work closely with business teams, product teams, engineers, and enterprise architects to deliver solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with future needs.
- Advance data governance practices such as data quality, lineage, metadata control, reference data management, and lifecycle oversight.
- Provide architectural direction for Agile and Waterfall delivery work, ensuring solutions match enterprise architecture principles and target-state designs.
- Manage and guide a team of data architects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of experience in data architecture or solution architecture in complex environments.
- Hands-on experience delivering data warehouse, big data, BI, analytics, and data science solutions.
- Deep knowledge of Azure tools and services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, and modern data integration platforms.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, governance, quality, lineage, metadata management, and data security.
- Experience creating architecture standards, technology roadmaps, and cloud transformation plans.
- Experience in airline, aviation, travel, or transportation is preferred, especially with PNR, ticketing, loyalty, revenue management, operations, and customer data domains.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics platforms.
- Relevant architecture certification such as TOGAF, SAFe Architect, ArchiMate, Open CA, or an equivalent credential.
