About the Role
We are seeking a strategic leader passionate about policy, governance, and complex project delivery to join as a Manager. You will steer a team responsible for crafting progressive road policies and strategies, managing critical commercial and tolling issues, and offering trusted advice to senior leadership. Your contributions will significantly influence decisions supporting Queensland's transport network, benefiting road users and the broader community for the long term.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the identification, analysis, and development of commercially focused road policies and strategies aligned with government and organizational goals.
- Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to guide policy creation and manage concession deed matters ensuring alignment with statewide objectives.
- Lead and participate in project teams using both internal and external resources to deliver strategic advice, implement policies, and ensure projects meet quality, cost, and time goals.
- Provide high-level leadership to a small team, driving strategic advice and recommendations on tolling and commercial road topics for senior management, advancing related initiatives and projects.
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to lead or contribute to project teams, critically analyzing policies, initiatives, contracts, and project proposals.
- Proven excellence in stakeholder engagement across various internal departments and external agencies to achieve team goals.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team to meet business objectives and deadlines.
- Experience drafting high-quality official correspondence, reports, briefs, and papers to support prompt and accurate decisions, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling clear explanation of complex issues, tailoring messages for various audiences, and influencing stakeholders with structured verbal and written guidance.
