Job Overview
This position involves handling conventional and government loan processing with strong analytical skills to assess loan applications adhering to underwriting and investor standards. The role serves as a key communication link between customers and the Mortgage department, providing prompt and professional assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with customers, loan officers, realtors, settlement agents, municipalities, and colleagues to facilitate smooth loan application processing.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external bodies to acquire necessary documentation such as employment verifications, IRS transcripts, title searches, appraisals, and bank statements.
- Alert relevant parties immediately on any discrepancies or irregularities against standard mortgage policies.
- Monitor, update, and analyze credit reports, appraisals, income documents, and verifications ensuring compliance with product and underwriting criteria.
- Conduct administrative tasks supporting loan origination including preparing commitment letters, reviewing title and homeowner's insurance, handling loan suspension notices, and providing documentation to closing attorneys.
- Examine loan applications critically to determine qualifications and recommend restructuring or alternative solutions.
- Authorized to review and approve loan conditions as stipulated by underwriters.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Utilize strong analytical and mathematical skills to evaluate borrower fee modifications and prepare necessary regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate closely with both internal team members and external parties including borrowers and loan officers.
- Identify and escalate risks to management as necessary.
- Support an inclusive work environment reflecting the company’s brand values.
- Carry out additional relevant duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent two years of work experience.
- Two to three years of prior mortgage processing or underwriting experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Email platforms, and Adobe software.
- Sound decision-making skills based on available information.
- Familiarity with product, investor, and compliance standards.
- Flexible and adaptable within a fast-moving mortgage environment.
- Competent in adjusting to new policies to enhance processes.
- Ability to work independently under time constraints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this job is between $20.55 and $34.25, with actual salary determined by individual qualifications and location-specific factors.
