Role Overview

Join Canva's team dedicated to reshaping how design is experienced globally. This position is based in Sydney or Melbourne, offering a dynamic work environment where you can balance autonomy and collaboration with global teams across different time zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and animate video assets, including motion graphics, transitions, characters, and storytelling elements.
• Create looping animations, expressive scenes, and narrative-driven sequences.
• Partner with template designers to ensure seamless integration of assets into user workflows.
• Collaborate with product teams to develop assets that showcase new motion features.
• Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship while producing scalable volumes of content.
• Engage in creative reviews, asset planning, and experimentation cycles.
• Stay informed on new trends in animation, editing styles, and visual storytelling methods.

• Enthusiastic about motion design with strong skills in animation, timing, pacing, and storytelling through visuals.
• Versatile in working across various animation styles.
• Passionate about creating assets that empower others to narrate their stories effectively.
• Keen on simplifying complex motion design concepts for everyday users.
• Curious and engaged with evolving aspects of motion design, film language, and mixed-media visuals.
• Capable of working both collaboratively and independently in fast-paced content production settings.

About the Team

The Content Studio, part of the Global Content & Discovery group, focuses on producing exceptional templates and creative assets that inspire and enable Canva users worldwide. The team collaborates with Video, Editing, AI, and Discovery groups to keep Canva at the cutting edge of visual communication.
