Role Summary

As a Network Administrator at BCM, you will be a key member of our expanding team, focused on managing and supporting our technical infrastructure that supports home, auto, farm, and commercial insurance products. This role involves hands-on responsibility for networking systems, servers, backups, and security within our office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and sustain existing and upcoming network infrastructure components.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation accessible to the IT department.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to ensure systems compatibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor network and hardware systems, promptly addressing any issues.
  • Deliver end-user technical support throughout the organization.
  • Engage in IT auditing processes when called upon.
  • Investigate and propose improvements for data collection systems.
  • Enforce network security by carrying out staff training, software patching, and applying best practices.
  • Manage and oversee network backup solutions.
  • Evaluate, trial, and deploy network enhancements and new features.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational needs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) with Windows and Linux operating systems and networking technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise with on-premises servers, storage systems, and networking hardware.
  • Familiarity with scripting and configuration management tools.
  • Experience with backup technologies and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Entra, Azure, and similar platforms.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Guidewire software is an advantageous asset.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite at our Welland, Ontario office.

Salary range: $70,000 to $95,000 annually.
