About the Role

We are inviting applications from nursing students who will complete their adult nursing degree by summer 2026 to start their nursing careers at our Endoscopy Unit as Newly Qualified Nurses. Candidates who are completing their degree this summer and can commence employment either as pre-registered nurses or as Registered Nurses following receipt of their NMC PIN after June 2026 are encouraged to apply.

This role involves working closely with the multidisciplinary clinical team in the ward or department, maintaining high standards of patient care under the guidance of the Ward/Department Sister or Charge Nurse. The Endoscopy Unit is recognized nationally for its excellence, offering both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services in a patient-focused and comfortable setting, consistently achieving outstanding quality of care scores.

Professional Development and Work Environment

Successful applicants will benefit from comprehensive preceptorship programs tailored for newly qualified MSc and BSc nurses, backed by supportive Clinical Education teams at one of the UK’s largest teaching hospitals. New nurses will be fully integrated into the team and encouraged to enhance their clinical skills continuously.

Additional Benefits and Working Conditions

The hospital provides various amenities such as on-site childcare, multiple cafes, and shops supporting local businesses and charities. Staff may take on roles such as ‘Freedom to Speak Up’ guardians and have access to flexible working arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance. Health and wellbeing support services are available, alongside participation in the NHS pension scheme and entitlement to an annual leave allowance.

Located near Norwich, the hospital is set amidst scenic countryside with nearby natural attractions like the River Yare and UEA Broad, ideal for recreational activities before or after shifts. Norfolk uniquely offers a blend of urban life, countryside, and coastal experiences.

Expectations and Values

All staff are expected to act as role models, delivering high-quality, safe, and compassionate care, and to demonstrate the Trust's core values summarized by the acronym ‘PRIDE’: People-focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence.
