About New Horizons
New Horizons serves as the leading provider of mental health and addiction recovery services throughout the Treasure Coast and surrounding areas. Annually, it supports approximately 15,000 children and adults with a range of programs including inpatient crisis care, a 24-hour helpline, mobile response teams, and outpatient services across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties. The organization also extends assistance to 22,000 students in local schools and collaborates with courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to enhance community health and well-being.
Role Overview
We are currently searching for a compassionate Peer Specialist dedicated to aiding clients in their recovery journeys. This role involves supporting individuals who require assistance in learning and growth, with a strong commitment to making a positive impact. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver peer support either at the office or within the community to a designated group of clients, focusing on monitoring Care Coordination activities for high-utilizing individuals of New Horizons' services.
- Assist the Care Coordination Team in managing tasks related to assigned clients.
- Accurately document all services performed.
- Provide transportation to clients when necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certification as a Peer Specialist is preferred, or actively pursuing certification.
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License with a driving record showing no more than six points accrued over the past six years.
- Successful clearance of a Level 2 Background Check through DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse as mandated by state regulations.
