Role Overview
The Planning and Scheduling Engineer is pivotal in crafting, monitoring, and revising detailed project timelines to guarantee on-schedule and efficient completion. The position demands exceptional analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and strong coordination with cross-functional teams to manage project progress, anticipate risks, and aid various decision-making stages throughout project execution.
Core Responsibilities
- Create and update comprehensive project schedules utilizing recognized planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Track project advancement and performance metrics in comparison to established schedules.
- Spot potential delays and risks, recommending strategies to alleviate such issues.
- Collaborate with project personnel, contractors, and stakeholders to collect reliable progress information.
- Generate periodic reports featuring status updates, schedule assessments, and forecast information.
- Perform critical path analyses and suggest improvements to optimize project timelines.
- Assist project management teams with resource planning and distribution.
- Ensure all project activities conform to relevant standards, requirements, and contractual commitments.
- Help assess variations, claims, and requests for extensions of time.
Qualification Criteria
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, or closely related fields.
- At least 15 years of proven experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or comparable software.
- In-depth understanding of project controls, risk management practices, and construction process workflows.
- Strong skills in analysis, communication, and preparing reports.
- Prior exposure to large-scale projects within the Middle East is considered a plus.
- Capability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-moving work environment.
