The Role

A leading private equity firm is looking for an Associate to join their investment team in Philadelphia. This position is crucial for executing transactions and supporting portfolio company growth, with close collaboration with senior firm members throughout the investment lifecycle. The role emphasizes transaction execution, with an approximate 80% focus on deal execution and 20% exposure to portfolio management. Associates will be integrated into lean deal teams, receiving significant responsibilities early on.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage sophisticated financial models, including Leveraged Buyout (LBO) analysis.
• Assist in all phases of transaction execution, from due diligence and deal structuring to closing.
• Perform comprehensive research on industries, markets, and companies within target sectors.
• Create materials and presentations for investment committee review.
• Oversee and support the performance and value creation strategies of portfolio companies.
• Work with senior colleagues on strategic projects and the identification of add-on acquisitions.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 2-3 years of experience in investment banking or a similar transaction-focused role.
• Exhibit strong proficiency in financial modeling, including LBO modeling.
• Prior experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), either sell-side or buy-side, is advantageous.
• Experience with an elite boutique or middle-market investment firm is highly relevant.
• Demonstrate a strong academic record, typically with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Show a history of stable career progression with minimal job changes.
• Provide evidence of leadership, dedication, and engagement beyond academics, such as in extracurricular activities or organizations.
