Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer based in Doha, Qatar, to provide expert engineering support for ongoing plant operations and revamps aimed at boosting efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver process engineering designs to upgrade facilities and improve long-term operational output and safety.
- Conduct feasibility assessments for plant debottlenecking and control system improvements; develop economic analyses of alternative solutions, initial cost projections, and engineering calculations.
- Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and company stakeholders to define project scopes and plans.
- Decide on work methodologies consistent with established policies and professional engineering standards.
- Lead contractor teams to meet unit goals, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain and update all process documentation, including PIDs, PFDs, material balances, and data sheets reflecting modifications.
- Prepare process data sheets and capital expenditure proposals to justify costs.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, familiar with major process engineering and process control standards and practices.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in ethylene crackers and advanced process control (APC).
- Familiarity with relevant industry guidelines, regulatory codes, and engineering methodologies and tools.
- Capability in downtime analysis and utilization of problem-solving techniques.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency with simulation software, heat and material balance calculations, and chemical engineering computations.
- IT skills, including use of management information systems like SAP.
- In-depth understanding of production processes, quality assurance, health and safety, and maintenance systems (preventative and predictive).
