Produce Stocker

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly zoned produce department, ensuring readiness for customers at all times.
• Regularly rotate stock and remove expired produce to guarantee freshness and quality.
• Ensure all produce items are accurately priced and labeled, following guidelines for ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, and signage.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols including temperature monitoring, thermometer usage, proper handling practices, and compliance with expiration dates.
• Manage stocking and downstocking tasks, including product protection and setting displays such as modulars and shelf caps, to keep the department fully supplied.
• Comply with all health and safety policies to maintain a safe, clean workplace.
• Be flexible with work hours, covering evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support smooth store operations and consistent service quality.

Challenges in the Role

• Handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, while staying focused and energized.
• Meet deadlines efficiently when restocking and recovering large amounts of inventory.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally, as well as repetitive stocking and organizing activities with attention to detail.
