Overview
The Product Manager at this enterprise is tasked with delivering measurable business value by enhancing sales, boosting operational efficiency, and elevating customer satisfaction through the development of high-quality products. Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of customer and associate needs to ensure the delivery of unparalleled shopping experiences through enterprise products.
- Translate business objectives and end-user requirements into a clear product strategy, ensuring alignment with development teams and external partners.
- Define and monitor goals, metrics, and analytics to assess product value and continuously refine the product backlog accordingly.
- Conduct end-user research to identify user stories and define minimum viable products (MVP).
- Collaborate with finance teams to grasp financial constraints and contribute to business plans for new opportunities.
- Keep abreast of market research and competitive developments to recommend superior solutions and maintain products as best in class.
- Evaluate innovations and technology platforms to suggest optimal solutions.
- Ensure product alignment with stakeholder priorities to drive sales growth, operational efficiencies, and customer satisfaction.
- Document and validate adherence to quality and change control standards.
- Test and refine product assumptions through user research and testing methodologies.
- Create, prioritize, and accept user stories integrating them into release planning.
- Make daily product decisions aimed at maximizing value.
- Identify benefits, challenges, dependencies, and issues related to features and enhancements.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as standups, iteration planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Communicate complex technical concepts in accessible language for diverse stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration among engineering, UX designers, and other teams to overcome obstacles and drive value.
- Advocate for end-users by empathizing with their needs and becoming a subject matter expert.
- Continuously evaluate product team progress, share lessons learned, and plan subsequent steps.
- Manage cross-functional expectations to execute product strategies effectively and educate requestors on prioritization based on value and user experience.
- Engage in active listening and facilitate communications at all organizational levels, clearly articulating long-term product strategies and how they guide immediate actions.
Additional Details
Reporting Structure: Reports to Product Management Manager or Senior Manager.
Travel Requirements: Occasional overnight travel, typically less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements: Primarily seated work in comfortable settings with occasional light lifting.
Work Environment: Comfortable indoor workspace with infrequent and non-objectionable unpleasant conditions.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience as a Product Manager in a modern software development environment.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies including extreme programming principles like paired programming, test-driven development, and continuous deployment.
- Ability to thrive in fast-changing environments with shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated communication skills across technical and functional teams at all organizational levels.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional software development teams.
- Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories.
